January Catchup

How time is flying, Sebastian is now two months old and growing at a rapid rate.
The grandparents came over in mid Jan to catch up and of course the timing couldn't have been better with the Adelaide 36ers in town to take on the Melbourne Tigers.

A couple of friends also came over for the game and was great to catchup with them and their first chance to meet Sebastian as well.

Also got a chance to chill out on the new outdoor setting with some perfect weather.

The Sixers lost that game - a shot on the buzzer not falling for us, it was a great game and the best I've seen the guys play all season, however it pretty much ended our season with little hope of making the finals. By now we are firmly out having lost every game since.

Sebastian continues to grow and now weighs in at an impressive 4.49kg, it won't be long now until we are planning for his first birthday!! - Ok not just yet there are still plenty of other first to come between now and than.

First Easter, first trip to SA in April (hopefully we can catch up with all the family in the short amount of time we are over for), first Mothers Day, first Fathers Day, first Grand Final day (AFL) first Melbourne Cup and then the first Birthday arrives!

Of course his first dinner out we have already done with a lovely visit by Great Grandma Newman and Great Aunty Liz in early January. It was fantastic to catchup with them both and for them to meet Seb. Dinner was great and Sebastian couldn't have been any better sleeping through the meal and conveniently waking for his food as desert was served (I've trained him well ;)

Catch Up

Well it's been a while since the last update, Christmas in fact.

So New Years came and went and now being responsible parents we didn't go out on the town or anything crazy, just a nice quiet one at home. Had a few friends over for some poker and some good food and drinks. Seb was his usual quiet self and whilst we had him out for the fireworks he was still sound asleep.

New Years Eve 2009

It was a stinking hot day that turned into some exciting storms with heavy downpours for New Years Eve night, entertaining to watch the drowned out crowds lining the banks of the Yarra for the fireworks but the downside of course a nice humid night for all.

New Years Day - no hangover - was time to hit the golf course for my first ever crack at the long stick with the little white ball. It was a sight to behold as I drove, chipped and putted my way around the Westgate Golf Course spending more time in the rough than not, however it was still a fun day. Whilst I'm far from going pro anytime soon I felt I did improve as the day progressed although never did really get the hang of that driving thing the 6 iron became my good friend as we hacked around the course.

New Years Day Golf - Rob, Mak, Adam

Of course I couldn't leave out the tenth hole where I scored a birdie on a par 3, MAGNIFICENT, never mind all my 10's and 12's for other holes this hole I nailed it and it was a great feeling when you connect cleanly with the ball and it goes somewhere in the direction you want - in this case just onto the back of the green from there a nice mid to long putt and we were in business!

I only felt I hit the ball cleanly and really well four times for the day, one was the above that landed beautifully onto the back of the green, the second was a short shot a tick over 100m, I went with what I thought was a safe 9 iron that than proceded to connect cleanly and send sailing over the back fence of the course into a part demolished building :(
The third and fourth clean hits were on the same hole, both great shots, looked great until they sailed over the fence and headed towards the housing estate that backs onto the course. No injuries or damage so new balls and away we went.
