Healesville Build - Frame Work Begins

Another week of rain and drizzle but the workers have soldiered on through and there is some more progress to the build.

The flooring to the granny flat is down and the frames are up (after we left the roof trusses also went up on the granny flat).

Granny flat bedroom

Granny flat living room with kitchenette

Pieces lying everywhere all marked and ready to be put up - one giant jigsaw puzzle

Roof trusses for our house

Down goes the flooring - after we left they almost completed laying the flooring

A bit of rain over the last week, this hole is almost 1 metre deep

Standing in the Master Bedroom looking out the window - that isn't there yet ;)

Looking down the back driveway at the build site

A couple of more loads of gravel and some drier days required to get any more trucks in and out, workers 4wd's are getting a bit of a workout

The BBQ deck goes here :)

Looking from the back of the house to the front

We have moved the house forward a few metres, resulting in the back not being so high off the ground

Healesville Build - Footings

The rain finally eased a little and the guys got stuck into putting the footings in and starting on the flooring.

It was great to get up there and see plenty of work happening and whilst we were there the walls and roof trusses were being delivered.

Apollo Bay

Another Apollo Bay Great Ocean Road Marathon / Running weekend has come and gone and whilst running isn't my thing it's great to get away kick back and relax with some good food and good wine.

This year saw Rob run the 14km on Saturday and Mak take on the half marathon on Sunday (actually 23km's as the cruel organisers make you run a extra couple so it finishes in the town centre!)

Headed down on Friday (Rob and myself in one car, with Deb, Ann & Seb coming down in the arvo and Ros & Mak coming down that night) with a stop at the Winchelsea Bakery only to be confronted by a small sign stating 'No Pies'. A country bakery with NO PIES! Not a good start to the weekend, upon arrival at Apollo Bay Rob and myself were looking forward to a round of golf but the weather gods had other ides so we were resigned to a coffee in the main drag before getting the keys and heading to our accommodation.

Once we got in we set the fire cranking and settled in for the arvo as the weather kept rolling on in.

Lucky for the runners the weather cleared up a bit on Saturday and Sunday. My duties as support crew - Saturday night steak night and Sunday morning bacon and egg fry up along with maintaining the fire.

A good weekend and Seb as always loves extra people around to play with and entertain.

Sebastian found it quite amusing to wave to us all through the window.

The golf sticks hardly left Seb's side for the entire weekend

The view out the front

The view out the back

Deb and Ann taking Seb for a walk

Smelling the flowers

Cheeky boys

Rob completing his 14km run from Apollo Bay to Paradise and back

Firewatching, real life and on TV

Mak (in the orange cap) completing his half marathon

And manages to crack a smile after finishing

Walking With Dinosaurs

Aunty Ros was kind enough to get us tickets to Walking with Dinosaurs and also offer to babysit for us.

With a cast worth more than $20,000,000 it was a sight to be seen and even a tad educational ;)

Apologies for the quality of the pictures but you may not be aware that flash photography is not something you want to be doing in front of a Dinosaur!

Healesville Build - Building Begins

Building was scheduled to start on Monday 02nd May but unfortunately some wet weather on Sunday and Monday morning prevented the turning of the soil to begin on Monday. However the guys returned to a drier site on Friday and we got things going, Let the building begin YAY!
