My F1 Videos from Friday.

A few quick videos taken on my phone of these beasts going around from Friday 26th March 2010. Unfortunately we all know by now that the race didn't unfold so favourable for the Red Bull duo of Sebastian Vettel and Aussie Mark Webber.
Vettel bowed out to a brake failure with quite a commanding lead, whilst Webber fell victim to bad timing on his tyre change (from Wet's to Slicks) which saw him duel with plenty of traffic. Webber still managed to set the fastest lap of the race and threw down plenty of great times as himself and Mclaren driver Lewis Hamilton chased the leading four, but it wasn't too be as a mistake by Webber with only a few laps remaining saw him tap the back of Hamilton sending them both off and subsequently they fell back in the field.
Webber managed to salvage a disappointing ninth place from his qualifying position of second.

Fire up the engines, it's F1 time!

Enjoyed a fantastic day Friday at the Qantas Australian Formula One Grand Prix.

Melbourne as usual put on a superb display of all four seasons in one day, the temperature sitting in the high 20's before the change and downpour hit late in the afternoon.
2010 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix

The first race of the day saw some sensational racing on track by the GT's providing 3 safety cars in a short 8 lap race! Of course a crash on the first corner of the first race set the tone for that race that was full of great close racing.

The RAAF Roulettes put on a spectacular display of aerial work that kept the crowd entertained between races.

Of course the Formula One cars that everyone was there to see didn't disappoint putting in plenty of practice laps even with the afternoon rain dampening the second session. These guys will only get quicker as the weekend goes on and Sunday's race is sure to be nothing short of spectacular!

The V8's closed out the day and as usual used as much muscle as speed to claim their space on the track, our favoured Jim Beam car came home with the victory after sitting comfortably in second all race until the third to last corner when the move stuck.

Qualifying Saturday is now upon us and Sebastian is pumped and ready for the Formula 1's to show their ultimate pace this afternoon/early evening in his pit gear.

Little Man, Big Bed...

Well it has finally happened; Adam has given me the reins of his blog AND Sebastian has moved out of his crib and into a cot!

So after 13 weeks in his crib the time had come to bid farewell.

He could now clearly kick both sides and was running out of arm and head room fast!

So once the cot arrived and the realisation that it came with no instructions had set in (perhaps this was better than me watching Adam put it together without reading them at least I couldn't blame him for winging it) 'we' began to build the cot. I was purely there in a supervisory capacity of course but did provide encouragement and even had Seb asleep just as Adam put the last screws into place.
Perfect timing so that Seb could test out the new furniture straight away. He seemed satisfied with the workmanship and had a long nap. Once he did wake up he had no complaints about it, though we do have to work out how to get his mobile attached to it. At the moment he just looks up at the prints on the wall and his toys; all of which are very funny and well worth staring at :)

He looks soooo tiny again now that he is in a cot that will transition into a toddler bed so he better love it cause for the next few years that cot/bed is all his. Next of course is the car shaped bed according to his Dad but we will see.

So the big question - how did the little man sleep in his new big bed? Well I am pleased to announce that he slept from 10pm through to 7:15am thus making for a very well rested household; here's hoping the extra limb space leads to many more long sleeps for the whole family.

What Time Is It?.... Seb Play Time!

Just a quick update with some photos and videos taken over the last couple of weeks of our favourite little guy. He is growing more and more and his little arms and legs are getting very active along with some chatting that I'm sure makes perfect sense to him.

Sebastian playing with his funky coloured animal.

Be like Mike, I wanna be like Mike.

Mr Cutie, Mr Smiley.

Sebastian and his good friend Monkey.

Seb's not quite sure what's going on but it seems like fun.

Sebastian enjoys some sunshine with his mate Oliver.

Sebastian stole Olivers rocker and had a blast.

Collinson's Sponsored Formula Vee.

Presenting to you in all it's glory the Collinson's Victoria Veal / Black Angus Formula Vee Racer.

Driven by Heath Collinson, Rob Collinson's son (Owner of R.H. Collinson's). This 1600cc Formula Vee made it's first apperance at Round 1 in Winton last weekend earning a very impressive 3rd place in the feature race and 5th overall for the weekend.

I haven't seen it in person but hoping to get along to Sandown and/or Phillip Island races later on this year.
The Collinson's Beats is taking part in the Formula Vee Australia Victorian Championship and may also take part in a cross over race at Mallala, South Australia.

Day Trip To Croydon Farmers Market

It was a gorgeous Saturday we headed up to Croydon (about 40 minutes away) to catch up with Ann and check out the Croydon Farmers Market.

A beautiful mid 20's day made for a pleasant wander around the many stalls of fresh and mainly local produce.

We found plenty of delicious goods and the return to bite size samples of EVERYTHING was very much welcomed.

The Lockton Farm Gourmet Sausages were sensational, with plenty of samples of the twenty odd different varieties.

We settled for the Italian Lamb and Fennel as well as some Turkey, Cranberry and Basil. This will be a treat on the barbecue for sure!

Next up was a stop at Jonesy's Dairy Fresh, were their full cream milk was definetly full cream! Of course seeing the Iced Coffee made from real milk it was an instant purchase and was sensational!

600ml for $3 was also a great price and we made another stop just before leaving for future consumption.

Also got 12 small yoghurts from Jonesy's that are very smooth and creamy, delicious.

The market was nice and peaceful, nestled in the shade at Croydon Park.

This stick of mettwurst was a easy purchase, bringing back memories of Mum and Dads. Looking forward to letting it hang for a while before thoroughly enjoying!

Other goodies we purchased included some blue cheese, Camembert cheese, a 500 gram bag of delicious smelling freshly ground coffee and an assortment of the usual vegetables - with some unusual purple carrots.

Storm Terrorises Melbourne

WOW, what a show nature put on for us on Saturday 06th March 2010. With plenty of warnings of a wet and wild weekend ahead no one quite expected what nature had in store for us.
A lovely sunny mid 20's degree morning soon turned into hail storm's and flash flooding in a matter of minutes.

Hail bigger than golf balls fell on the City causing damage in the millions, Etihad Stadium level 2 was shut down as the NAB Cup Semi Final was delayed over half an hour, shops were floody and streets were turned into rivers.

As usual some crazies take things to a new level with a bit of street kayaking.

Punters at Flemington Racecourse found some unusual ways to deflect the hail as the last two races of the day were postponed to the next meet.

No idea if someone is still sitting in this car, but it was well and truly taking in water.

Some parts of Melbourne looked like it had been snowed on rather than hailed

The cleanup now takes place with insurance claims expected to be in the Millions, they are expecting it to be the largest event claim in Victoria's history.

We spent the morning at home in Sunshine doing a bit of gardening, pruning trees, roses and cutting back the hedge. The sky turned dark in a matter of minutes and no sooner had we packed up and it was raining, not just raining but thunderous storms pelting down some water drops. At home we suffered a bit of water damage to the toilet as the gutters failed to handle the amount of water getting thrown at them and they overflowed both out and in and got into the walls and light fixture, not a great deal of damage luckily.

Unlike a few km's down the road where the hail started to drop and seemed to get larger as the storm moved across the city.

More storms and rain was expected for Sunday and Monday, whilst we have had some rain and winds it has been nothing compared to Saturdays.

So for Sebastian this was his first big storm and one we wont forget in a hurry, neither will Amare and Farley as they shivered on the couch with thunder cracking down around them.
