Sandy Point Running.

Deb and Rob both took part in the Sandy Point half marathon, whilst Mak took part in the 10km run along the picturesque Beach Road and Esplanade in Sandringham.

The support crew of Ann, Ros, Sebastian and myself were in attendance and doing our best running impersonations from the sidelines, well me and Seb were anyway.

With parking chaos near the start/finish line I decided to head out to the 4km marker which also had the advantage of seeing the runners come back as 5km was the turnaround point so the 4km marker was also the 6km marker heading the other direction.

Seb had a wonderful time in his Jeep pram laughing hilariously as the runners rolled past, luckily he didn't laugh too much as Deb, Rob and Mak came past us.

Once we had seen the crew run out and back past the 6km mark we headed back into the start finish line to meet up with Ann & Ros, whilst Deb and Rob still had a fair way to go to reach their 21.2km finish line Mak would be finished in no time setting a cracking pace when we saw him.

As it turned out Mak did beat us to the Finish line posting an impressive 50 minutes and 2.7 seconds a personal best by nearly 6 minutes!

Deb completed her small run in 2 and a half hours, whilst Rob crossed the line in just over 3 hours.

A great effort by all the athletic folk and a great effort by the support crew as well, putting up with one of the worst coffees ever known to man was no mean feat.
